Skitch on Over, There’s A New Dog on the Block

Let’s see click here, drag there, click here, enter server there; how many steps do I have to go through just to get this image onto the web the way I want it? Not to worry, things are about to change. Plasq.com has just put its new Skitch program into beta release and it looks like it will make the arthritis in your clicking finger a whole lot better.

Being shown at MacWorld 2007 in San Francisco, the latest release of Skitch is making life a whole lot easier for everybody that wants to fix up their pics and post them online to whatever or whomever they please. Once was the time that you had to understand multiple formats and processes to get your images under control and posted. With the latest Skitch program a whole new bundle of options are added so that you can play around with the image, resize, drag and post in an instant.

The function that really makes the process move right along is the dragging and dropping of an image from anywhere. There happens to be a photo library for all of your images. You don’t need to go hunting through files everywhere. They’re all right there. Simply go to the photo area and drag it on over. One click and the size you would like is done. How easy is that?

One of the great features of the program is that Skitch has its own server. Sure, you can use yours or any other server for that matter, but the program having its own makes things super quick for posting to places like MySpace or other net options.

Ok, so what would a program like this be without the fiddle factor? The image is perfect but if you can’t get your own three cents in, what’s the point. Adding a few enhancements was always easy but now there are other options to drawing in a hat or glasses. In this version of the popular software you can ad text. Adding comments about Uncle Joe’s new combover or aunt Sues mole on her chin are a snap. The best part about this is that the comment is not lost while trying to decipher your writing scrawls, and the quality transfers to a post better. Somebody can actually read what you wrote.

As we go about staying on top of the latest software developments, programs are beginning to recognize just how lazy we are and what we have come to expect as a basic program. This Skitch photo image program is the second generation of what proved to be a successful photo image program. If the beta version is half what the original is photo images are going to be showing up on the web in forms that the original image will not even closely resemble.
